Maria Rodriguez-Gregg

General Assembly Candidate (LD-8)

Although this represents her first bid for public office, through her personal experience, Maria has a full grasp of the financial, employment and educational challenges facing so many families and young people today.

Professionally, her focus has been in the field of dentistry as a Certified and Registered Dental Assistant and in dental practice management. For almost a decade, Maria worked in various general dental practices as well as in the specialty of Orthodontics. She later served as an Instructor at the Burlington County Institute of Technology’s Dental Assisting program, and finally, became an instructor and mentor for dental professionals at a private firm in Piscataway.

She is active member of the community; Maria has been a member of Civil Air Patrol in New Jersey for several years, a Congressionally-created auxiliary to the United States Air Force. The Civil Air Patrol (CAP) is engaged in times of emergency, assisting in search and rescue missions, disaster relief and, most recently, was engaged in emergency operations during Hurricane Sandy.

This is strictly a voluntary, unpaid endeavor for Maria. She has served in several leadership positions including Deputy Commander for Cadets, Project Officer for NJ CAP Color Guard and Competition team, and currently as Assistant Director Cadet Programs for the NJ Wing. She is the recipient of a number of official commendations for her service in Civil Air Patrol.

Maria is currently a member of the Board of Trustees for Burlington County College and serves as chair of the Academic Affairs Committee. She also served for two years as a member of the Board of Directors for Habitat of Humanity of Burlington County.

Maria is a graduate of Burlington County College and recently graduated from Rutgers University-Camden with a degree in Economics in the spring of 2013.
